Editorial Review:
  • From birth and up
  • Mattress easily inflates with hand pump
  • Bottom pocket hides mattress away from baby and prevents mattress shifting

Whether you have an infant or big kid the PeaPod Plus is the perfect travel bed. For short trips across town when naptime nears, or long cross country vacations, the PeaPod Plus becomes your childs own portable bedroom. And its so lightweight even your child can carry it. The inflatable air mattress helps protect from cold, hard surfaces (inside or out) and provides a comfortable place to sleep or play. Great for outdoors because of its UV protection and adjustable wind screens. Sleeping bag unzips completely to form a one piece sleeping pad. A large front zipper panel allows parents quick access to infants or easy in/out for older kids.

Customer Reviews:

Nervous for Nothing-This thing is great!
I was so nervous about using this bed based on other reviews indicating it was nearly impossible to fold up and get back in the bag rendering it useless for travel. I followed the suggestions of others and put a crib sheet on the mattress and put the mattress directly inside the tent. It took only 2 naps to get my little guy (11 mos.) to sleep in it regularly in his crib. Today I was almost terrified as I packed for vacation, dreading the folding up process. I had that thing in the bag in 2 minutes. It did take a few tries but it was my first time. Next time I bet it will only take me 1 minute. This was a GREAT BUY!

Pea Pod Plus is great!
My very large 11 month old son loves sleeping in the Pea Pod Plus and prefers it to the pack-n-play.

It works! Who woulda thought?
We just returned from a trip to New England and while preparing for the trip, I came across this tent and thought the reviews were good and I liked the idea of not having to drag the pack and play all over with us. Honestly, I was pretty skeptical despite the good reviews, but I thought I would give it a shot. Our 15 month old baby slept great in the tent. I liked that the blow up mat goes in a pocket underneath the tent, so there is no risk of the baby getting trapped under the mat at night. I also liked that you can zip them up in the tent so they won't escape at night. The only problem we had was she likes to burrow in the corners of her crib and when she did this in the tent, it was kind of noisy. Also, at night if she was fussing it was hard to get access to her to pat her back or give her a bottle without undoing the zipper and making noise that way. But that was all pretty minimal given the convience. At one point we went to a lake and it was great having a place where she could rest in the shade, out of the sun.

The tent packs up well. I recall reading reviews where people said it was hard to fold up. I read the instructions once and was able to fold it up easily. Honestly, just don't over think it or force it. I think the model we chose was the bigger one, so we could continue to use it as our baby gets older but it still fit in our suitcase just fine.

I also thought the pump was sufficient. Seriously, if you go out and buy an electric pump for this, you're just lazy. It really isn't that bad. The pump is small and light weight. I did find if you squeezed the mat valve with one hand while you pumped with the other, it was more efficient.

I don't really get the sleeping bag that comes with the tent. It's cute and we'll probably use it later, but I thought it was kind of bulky and I worried about our baby getting caught up in it - she tends to move around a lot when she sleeps. It's cute though, a little bonus I guess.

So all in all, we're really happy with the baby tent. Like I said, I didn't think our baby would sleep in it, but she did great. I did think the price was pretty steep (around $80 I think?) but the quality was fairly good.

Good at Home, Too.
I've had a PeaPod Plus for several months, and we use it nearly every weekend without major issues. My son, now 16 months, took to it immediately. He likes to sleep in it so much that we leave it up all the time in the living room... when he's tired, he just crawls in and takes a nap. He also has fun playing in it with his toys. Even the dog likes it: he hides in there during storms. Like some other reviewers, I just put a crib sheet over the air mattress and put it inside. (Although the sheet size is different, the flocked texture of the air mattress keeps it from sliding.) As many others mentioned, the air pump is basically useless, but inflating it without one isn't a problem. I think the sleeping bag is terrible. The fabric is soooo polyester and not very soft. It feels as if it would be uncomfortable, especially in warmer weather, so we don't use that either. The bag that comes with it is big enough that you don't have to squeeze every bit of air out to cram it in, which is nice. The biggest issue I've had is with the zippers. They seem like regular zippers by day, but then at night with a sleeping baby, they become the LOUDEST thing ever.

With a nicer sleeping bag, functional pump, and stealth zippers, this thing would be perfect.

fun bed
A friend of mine told me about this bed. My daughter feels like she has a hide out to play in. As for sleeping it's comfortable, but she does roll out sometimes and when I have to put her down I have to get down on my knees and slide her in while trying to hold up the side flap. It was easy to put up and move around and doesn't weigh too much. I hope to get more use out of it in the future.
