My daughter loves this lightup toy, and I agree the songs are not too loud.

This is a delightful little musical "rattle" for a baby. Mine is just 6 months old and loves the music, lights and the handle, she can chew on it and hold it well. The music is short, but very tolerable for adults and the music volume (even on high) is quiet enough that this is perfect for a restaurant setting.

No age range was given on this so I bought it for my 6 month old. It is too heavy for him and if he is laying down and grabs it, he eventually ends up smacking himself in the face with it because it is too heavy and he loses his grip. The caterpillar that is meant for baby to grasp is too big for him also. I guess it is better suited for an older baby but the product description here should give an age range. Overall, OK. Nice tunes and plenty to choose from.

If you have a baby who is soothed by music, this is a wonderful toy. It has ten different songs to listen to. I take it to the changing table, the waiting room at the doctors office, everywhere we go. And my daughter loves to look at the lights too. It was a great price, and the batteries haven't died yet.

We received this as a gift for our son when he was a newborn. Then, he was fascinated by the lights and sounds, even though he could not hold it or push the buttons. It still holds his interest at 7 months, and now he can manipulate the songs. It's perfect size and shape for a baby's hands. You do have to turn it on for your child, but we love how it has two volume levels, neither of which are too loud. The songs are pleasant; we don't mind hearing them repeated even after all these months. A great toy!
***However, I do see the price is currently ridiculous on Amazon. I'm not sure why. This is a great toy, but DON"T PAY $50. Find something else similar, I'm sure there are other good options
