Customer Reviews:
Great Value
Scanner was up and running out of the box in 15 minutes. It is a far superior product compared to the UMAX 1220U it replaced. The only issue is a minor one with the MP Navigator EX 1.0 software. The scanner can handle 35mm and 120 size film and mounted slides, but 35mm is the only drop-down option available for film size. It has no effect on the scan quality and I just ignore that setting. This scanner is a great value for the money. Only a professional photographer would have need of anything else.

1000+ Photos scanned Beautifully!
I bought this scanner to archive and condense 50 years of photos and have been at it a few months now. It's fast, quiet, very reliable. At first I wasn't happy with the quality, but: USER ERROR. I pumped up the DPI to 600 and now they're great. Huge file sizes, but nothing my MAC and Photoshop can't handle. I feel this was a great investment.

GREAT SCANNER
This is a great scanner, very versatile, and easy to load software that worked perfectly. Recommend to anyone wanting to do some serious scanning.

Love it.
I absolutely LOVE my scanner. It is easy to use and the resolution is wonderful. I use it all the time for scanning documents, but not with the Omnipage OTR software that comes with it (at least as a trial version). After a lot of research, I purchased the Readiris program and am 100% pleased with it. Together, the Canon 8800F and the Readiris are amazing.

Best scanner I've used
The Canon CanoSCan 8800F Scanner is fast, quiet and easy to use. I love the ability to scan two photos at once (which a lot of scanners have, but, not at this speed).

The deal I found at Amazon was $30 cheaper than anywhere else.

My only complaint is the large footprint. It's larger than the Epson Scanner it replaced, and you expect new technology to be smaller. But I'll gladly accept the large footprint for the fast speed. This scanner produces results comparable or better than the Epson, and it does it in 20% of the time.
