Someone get out the history books please!

Showtime should be commended for creating another beautifully filmed mini-series. They should be strangled, however, for their complete lack of historical accuracy. If you want sensuality in your late nite prime time, then The Tudors is your ticket. The characters are beautiful and the performances are honest, griddy and gripping; which makes this series a pleasure to watch. But if you're going to make series based on the tomfoolery of rolyality and it's trappings, you may want to tell the truth as to why these things happened.

Addictive

I didn't watch the series when it aired, but was intrigued when I saw the DVD set. I couldn't stop watching it! Given, it is not historically accurate but it's wildly entertaining. I can't wait till season 2 is available.

I Was a Teenage Tudor

This series begins well, but the quality is not sustained. After three or four episodes it becomes silly, the plot meanders, and attention is sustained only be frequent sex and nudity -- which start out well but soon become crass and pointless, as happened in ROME. The casting is good in some cases, very bad in others. So after buying the whole set we gave up watching half way.

I never watched The Tudors prior to purchasing the first season on DVD, but I was very pleased with my purchase.
The show is fun and exciting, but you must be a fan of drinking, sex, and bad language in order to enjoy it as much as I do.
