Dexter - The Complete Second Season

Color me stupid. I send all this money to my cable company for subscribing to Showtime, and I never watched Dexter until the first two seasons came out on DVD? What was I missing out on?...Only the absolute best show on TV.

How good is it? Let's put it this way...I'm actually glad that I hadn't seen this until DVD, because my wife and I were able to watch the series in like two weeks versus like 12 weeks per regular season. I think that we even watched three episodes in one night. Alas, season 3 started this week, and now it's one episode of Dexter one week at a time.

So certainly one of the good things about Dexter on DVD is that you don't need to wait 12 weeks to see a season from start to finish. But certainly the best thing about the series is how well done it is.

Dexter (played by Michael C. Hall of HBO's Six Feet Under fame) is a blood spatter analyst with Miami Homicide. It's his job to help solve murders, and he also happens to moonlight as a serial killer....Just a side note that last part.

The acting in the show is terrific, and the thrills and twists are plentiful. Combine the nature of Dexter's professional life with his favorite pass-time, and you can bet your carotid artery that there's plenty of blood in the show too. But rest assured that the show isn't just about killing. Relationships, family, the inner working of a homicide squad...all of this "stuff" is also packed neatly into the Dexter series and makes the show one of the best on TV that I've seen in a long long time.

Add this bloody-good show to your cart. Season 1 is just as good as season 2, so I'd strongly urge newcomers to start from the beginning.

This season's Dexter is AWEsome! Great stories, great acting... it's simply fabulous! I'd recommend a must-buy for anyone who loves thriller.

Much different than the first season. Season I helps us get to know Dexter. Season 2 is a great show -- full of plot elements beyond what you could expect from Season 1. We get to know Dexter (and his sort) a lot better in this one and twists and turns keep the season full of suspense. New characters also offer a breath of fresh air. Rita and her charm also becomes more apparent. I watched the entire series on DVD in 2 days, and that's saying something. We also start to see how sexy Michael C. Hall really is -- instead of sexually repressed zombie.

I have both seasons of Dexter and I love the series. It is great to be able to watch them all togethor and the DVD makes this possible. Micheal C. Hall is wonderful and the show is addictive, you can't wait to see what happens next. Can't wait for Season III!
