Editorial Review:
If you're looking for outstanding quality, high speed and advanced convenience features, the Canon Pixma iP4000 Photo Printer is ideal. Its ContrastPLUS 5-color ink system with four dye-based inks plus a pigment-based black ink produces true-life photos with improved color saturation and contrast along with laser-quality text. Plus, it achieves a resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi, for exceptional detail and photo-realism. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a high-performance 1,856-nozzle print head that ejects consistent, prescribed-volume droplets as small as 2 picoliters. Simply put: more nozzles with higher accuracy equal better results at impressive speeds. You can even produce edge-to-edge borderless photos in 4 x 6, 5 x 7 and 8.5 x 11 in. sizes, with the look and feel of traditional photographs.Using the Pixma iP4000 Photo Printer is fast and easy. How fast? It can produce up to 25 ppm in black and up to 17 ppm in color, and a 4" x 6" borderless print takes only 36 seconds. How easy? With direct photo printing, you can even print without a computer: simply connect any PictBridge-compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, and print! To help reduce printing costs, this efficient system has five individual ink tanks that let you replace only the color that runs out, rather than an entire cartridge containing unused ink. Plus, a unique low-ink sensor alerts you when ink levels are low, so you are prepared to just drop in a new tank as needed.

About the customer service......I I must say I wish all customer service people were as helpful as Kim from Amazon Direct. Both courteous an helpful and provided me with alternate options and emailed me the tracking number before even the delivery service. I highly recommend this printer to anyone looking for quality photos and wireless and wired capabilities.

Canon iP4000
Works very well. This is my fourth inkjet color printer, I wore out the previous three. Color is good, black and white is OK but I still prefer my Laser (HP 5Si). Ink use is good, service is easy and the duplex works great albeit slow. I have used Canon, new clone, refilled by others and refilled by me cartridges and all worked fine. The carrier needs to be cleaned periodically and the documentation that comes with the printer is poor but there are full service manuals on the Internet for free. This is probably my last inkjet since solid ink printers are in the same price class and produce better results. However, I would buy another so long as the cartridges are not "chipped" to prevent use of alternate brands. 2009-02-26

New to wireless printing
Let me start off with saying I am ecstatic about my decision to buy this printer. The picture quality was so much more than I expected. I decided on this printer not for the price but for the versatility. Because my cp is older I had to be able to set it up to print from my desktop as well as my laptop and this one is able to both. I had a little difficulty get them both set up but once I figured it out everything else went smoothly. I recommend this printer to anyone who is looking for a printer for printing photos it prints everything from wallets size up to 8 x 10.

Became a disappointment
Printer functioned very well for about 6 months, but then failed to print colors properly after that? Replacing print inks, print head, cleaning the print heads, reinstalling the program, etc. failed to make any difference. Of course I had the exact same problems with an earlier HP photo printer, and a later Canon photo pinter using different PC's? I suspect that these printers have a built in design to make them disfunctional after a given amount of usage to force the user to purchase a newer product. Nothing would surprise me. 2008-02-11

" Fantastic Printer "
I bought the Canon PIXMA iP4000 Photo Printer in November 2004 and used it nearly everyday, mostly printing photos & CD lables. It has NEVER jammed exremely reliable. RARELY used it to print text but it did a great job even on that. a few days ago was temped to buy a Epson R380 for $125, because it had good reviews from owners, had all the bells and whistles. But strangle the Epson R280 is the same printer less the 3.5" view screen & card reader. Yet it got terrible reviews, go figure. it selling on Epson site for $59.99. To make a long story short, SOLD IT ON EBAY $125.00 5 minutes after it was listed. The Canon PIXMA iP4300 Photo Printer also has great reviews planned to buy it as a replacement, but instead opted to buy the newly released Canon PIXMA iP4500 Photo Printer , which is said to print photos wirelessly from even your cell phone. Enjoyed this printer looking foward to the New Pixma IP4500 2007-08-28
