More than basic, less than audiophile
Four people in our office use this model headset for web telephony, speech-to-text, and other applications. Audio quality is very good in both directions, and the USB connector seems to be a major part of the performance. Headset is more bulky than a basic model but not as cumbersome as a studio pair. If wearing it all day, you might want something lighter, but a constant user might also want the benefit of having the ears completely covered.

Consider Carefully
I had this model about 6 months, light use (1-3 times/week) before it died. The mic would no longer transmit and the sound remained stuck at max. After removing/re-installing the driver it was still the same, which was no real loss since they were not very comfortable in the first place.

Bad design, uncomfortable, and cheap plastic that breaks
One day while I was wearing the headphones for about 20 minutes, for no
apparent reason, one side broke, while they were sitting on my head. I know I didn't do anything to cause this, I attribute it to a bad design, and perhaps cheap plastic. So I taped the one side back on with electrical tape.

About 2 months later, again, while the earphones were on my head for quite some time, the opposite side broke. I taped that side too.. Now, I do enjoy the sound that comes from these headphones, so I figured that I could live with the tape.

Yes, they did hurt my ears when worn for more than 1/2 hour like everyone else is mentioning.

Well today, the tape gave way, and they broke again.

The sound quality is there. As far as the manufacturing quality, the only thing that seems to be made very well, is the shiny Logitech logo on the side of the earphone.

I hope Logitech learned from this mistake and will put more effort into finding a better manufacturer of their products.

Bad craftsmanship
I will echo what seems to be a common problem with this headset:

1) Extremely uncomfortable (but you can grow accustomed to it over time)
2) Poor and/or failing sound quality

The poor fit is just bad design, but most people can probably live with it. What concerns me the most is how badly the sound deteriorates. It is clearly a poor wiring job or maybe they use cheap wires, but the sound is not getting through completely. The left channel was the first to drop (completely at the time of this review), and now the right channel is dimming as well.

The mic seems to be in working order (although I have not tested it recently).

I've owned these for about half a year, and had a good experience with them until the sound started deteriorating about a month ago. Even taking precautions to take care of them, the sound is now completely shot. It is disappointing that a ~$90 headset would fail within six months. I've had much cheaper headsets last years.

Just a note, the problem seems to stem from poor wiring (or wires?), between the controller and the headset.
