Royal Full-Size Professional Laminator- Black(PL2112)

At first I was impressed with this unit, but after 3 or 4 successful feeds, my 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper got lost inside the unit, rolling around the barrel. Unfortunately there is no easy way to open the unit to fix the problem. Basically you end up throwing it away and buying a new one since it is not that expensive to begin with. I guess you get what you pay for!

I am looking for another Royal PL2112 after another one I bought died. It was only used 20-25 times, and jammed with a laminator pouch in the roller. I took the unit apart and learned that the problem was with gears in the electric motor. I am assuming that this was a freak event. However, if the next one has the same problem, I will post that fact here.

The laminator is heavy and well-built. Heating time is fairly quick for a laminator and pouches do not need a carrier. I have used different sized pouches up to 9x11 with no problem. Most of the times I used it was for laminating business cards. It can laminate them continuously--several at a time swince it is so wide.

The controls are simple: on/off and release. A red light indicates that it is heating up, and a green light indicates it is ready. The only feature I wish it had is some sort of timer. The unit gets rather hot, and I am always worried that someone will forget to turn it off.

Amazon's price is great at $52.

I am very pleased with this product. It heats up quickly, is easy to use and gets the job done in a matter of seconds!

Very nice laminator. Haven't had any negative experiences with it yet and have used it periodically for two years now.

This is a great personal machine! The finished product looks great! The machine is quiet, and easy to use - just plug, warm-up, then insert! When there was a jam, it was easy to remove and it didn't damage the machine. i'm glad that i got it...and what a great price!! Much better than going to office stores!!
