HDMI and HDMI CEC / Plays BD to 1920x1080 / Upconverts DVD to 1080p / Selectable 60 and 24 frame per second / Dolby True HD and DTS HD

So after the movie and not happy with the filter the studio put on the IH I put back in THE THING and it wouldnt load. I then put in the IHULK and it too wouldnt play again.
I put in three other blu-movies and they all played.
DOES THIS MACHINE BRICK when you insert a gawd damn UNIVERSIAL film or what?
What gives?

You're better off purchasing a more reliable machine from a more responsible manufacturer.

-Get into the beautiful quality of Blu-Ray for a cheap price.
-Good looking upconversion of standard DVD's up to 1080p.
-Can program your speaker setup in the settings making for more accurate sound straight from the horses' mouth (as opposed to your receivers' encoding)
Con:
-The load time is fairly long for Blu-ray discs (1 minute+); but you must ask yourself; is the extra 30 seconds saved w/ a premium model worth the extra $100+ you'll pay?
-HOWEVER, if paused more than a few minutes, the video stops meaning you must reload it again which can be especially painful if it's a Blu-Ray (1+ minute of loading time). I've not answered phone calls because of this...be warned.
While this player has its' share of flaws; it's not a bad purchase if you're looking to lose your Blu-Ray virginity. I'll likely upgrade in a couple of years when my salary is a bit higher, but I have no problem with this as a part of my home theater.

Now wont play disks.
This machine worked fine for awhile besides the retarded load times. But I needed a firmware update just to watch Incredible Hulk. So I did and didnt watch the movie just the alt opening. Now I watched the THING on blu-ray and it was great. I popped in IH again and it wouldnt play. I put other blu-movies and they played including Jouney to the Center of the Earth. I take back Hulk and try another one, same thing. So I update again and it plays!

Samsung BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Player
Samsung BD-P1400 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player This is a wonderful Blu-Ray player with excellent picture and 5.1 sound. You can upgrade the firmware thru your internet line or download firmware unto a CD-R. Firmware upgrade makes player ever more enjoyable. 2008-11-02

Poor reliability
Didn't expect fast downloading or extra functions with this unit at this price, but I did expect it to operate for more than a couple of months at a time. It would play beautifully for about two months and then stop playing blu-ray discs, even with firmware upgrades. After the third trip to the Samsung service center, Samsung said that the unit was two days past the three month warranty and refused to fix it.
You're better off purchasing a more reliable machine from a more responsible manufacturer.

muy mala pesima
for 6 months it has been buying samsung BD-P1400, and them story that no longer works to me. I have taken it to the factory of samsung and they say to me that arrego, costs 300 dollars, and that there is no the card, they gave back it to me because it does not have repair. I reach the conclusion that is a disposable machine 2008-10-18
