The Whitelabel name is derived from one-of-a-kind vinyl pressings, which are highly sought after in the DJ community. Like these limited-edition recordings, the Whitelabel cartridge is destined to become the most prized tool in every club DJ's arsenal. Retains the forward and backward adjustment of a standard-mount headshell. Tone-arm connector engineered for compatibility among the most common professional turntables. Includes rubber tension gasket and rounded gold plated pins. Cartridge weight is displaced closer to the cantileverfor increased skip resistance and optimal performance. Allows DJs to see exactly where they drop the needle. These four features work in tandem to produce the best possible performance and sonic characteristics of any Mix/Spin DJ integrated cartridge available. The Whitelabel cartridge ships complete with a custom-designed, brushed-aluminum carry case for added protection.

Customer Reviews:

skip-proof
If you want the best sound quality, Ortofon is pretty much the way to go, but that's not to say the whitelabels are bad. They aren't by a long shot. Top of the line for probably the second best sounding cartridge manufacturer. But the big reason DJs grab these is their spectacular grip on a record. I've never seen one of these skip, ever. If you're a rough DJ or you like to scratch, get this. The downside to that is that it has been known to wear out vinyl faster than other cartridges, but if you read the instructions and weigh it down less (say 2.0 max) you should be fine. Top notch needle.

By doing nothing the best, they do something right
These aren't perfect at anything, but they are a nice, pleasant happy medium in sound quality, tracking, and distortion characteristics. When they get harsh, it's rarely as bad as the Nightclubs can occasionally get. When they get bassy, it's never as bad as the ATP's. When they distort, it's usually not as bad as the 500 series. And when there's a little mud, at least there's still more detail than the 680 series. On some phono preamps the mids sound great. On others it's the bass. Still others reveal respectable highs. I've never gotten them all right, but it's not so far off from neutral ever that it sounds significantly wrong. Then there's the ability to track well at just 2.25 grams. Occasionally the lower mids can get a little cold on mixers like the Xone 62, and the FIMD rasp isn't as low as the 680 or even the Nightclubs. There tends to also be a little channel imbalance and variation on the styli, but they are at least relatively cheap to replace if you get several in a pack...less than half of a Nightclub needle.
