Pacific Natural Foods Organic Soup, Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato, 16-Ounce Units (Pack of 12)

I am preparing for WLS and trying soups and broths for after surgery when Im on liquids only . I read all the reviews and hoped for the best . This is hands down the best tomato Ive ever tasted.

The roasted red pepper/tomato is great tasting soup and very convenient to keep on hand, being organic is a plus. However, it (like a lot of processed foods, even "healthy" ones) is rather high in salt, 720mg per serving, two servings per 16 oz carton, thus the 3 stars (I'd give it 3 1/2 if I could). Pacific Natural makes a lower sodium version, I wish Amazon carried it. Admittedly is a little blander, but easy to spice up with healthier ingredients than salt. At first I was excited to find it at Amazon, but as some others have commented, it's not a great bargain here. I just bought it at a grocery (not discount) store for $2.69, $27.76 for 12 works out to $2.31 per carton. Still, if they carried the lower sodium version I'd order it for the convenience (and give it four stars).

Satisfiying soup tip: open the container and pour in about a tablespoon of olive oil, shake it up, and serve. Vegetable oils, like olive or canola oils, are a great addition to soups. They create a smooth silky feel and are great for your health in so many ways.

This soup is fabulous, hot or cold. Smooth, tasty, and rich. This is the best tomato soup I've tasted.

This soup is also Kosher (internationally certified by Kof-K, Kosher Supervision Services) for those whose meals are just another facet of their spiritual journey and service.

Warning: I was tempted to just drink the soup from the container, but don't. You can cut your lip on the foil seal if you do. Well, at least make sure you have all the foil seal removed.

I like this soup -- especially at the sale price which was 50% off of the regular price. One 16 ounce carton is enough for one person IMHO (in my humble opinion). I like the fact that it is organic but I would like less sodium (salt). I didn't really taste the roasted peppers. I add a couple of slices of (I dare to say) American Cheese which improves the taste and texture.

This is absolutely delicious. I am a food snob, but, like everyone else, my wife and I are busy and don't find time to cook as often as we should. This shortcut box of soup is a welcome find in a world of high-fructose-corn-syrup-in-everything processed foods. It is not over salted like so many packaged soups and has a (nearly) fresh tomato taste. My whole family enjoys this (from 70-something Mom and Dad, whose primary focus on soup normally stops at "is it hot enough?" to picky 3-year-old daughter who frowns on too many ingredients and likes her soup "clean"). You will too.
