Being a relocated Texan in SC I have never been able to find Wolf Chili in any of the grocery stores. To my delight I found that I can order it delivered to my door using Amazon's subscription feature. My chili came very promptly. There are many wonderful recipes that use Wolf Brand Chili. Many thanks to Amazon for offering this product!

First the good. . . Wolf Brand is one of the few canned products that can be rightly categorized as Texas-style red chili. That alone places it above its direct competitors, many of which have "chili" wrote on the label but something rather different inside the can.
At the same time, Wolf Brand is still canned chili -- and even the best canned chili is barely a shadow of what real chili con carne should taste like. In particular, Wolf Brand has a dull and lifeless character, in which the rich spiciness of proper chili has been replaced with an "earthy" flavor that I find reminiscent of cow feed.
It's both convenient and traditional to open a can of Wolf Brand Chili when making a Frito pie or topping a chili dog. In a pinch you can even make a meal out of it -- if your expectations aren't too high. However, please don't imagine that it's anything like the heavenly treat that a bowl of home-cooked chili should be.

Seemed like a deal but...
Seemed like a deal at the time but after noticing the size of the cans, not so much. I love the taste of this chili and after moving from Texas could not find it in Nevada I ordered a case. Won't do it again. Will suffer with Hormel out of the grocery store. The small can size, which I have never seen in a store is not worth the per can cost. 2008-07-25

We love it
This chili is great with hot dogs, hamburgers, spaghetti, nachos, or used in enchilada sauce. We are always trying it in different recipes to see what new favorite we can create. For those who like a thick chili with some bold flavor to it, Wolf brand just might be what you are looking for. My family won't settle for anything else. 2008-06-07

The Only Canned Chili Allowed in My House!
How can you make Frito Pie or Tex-Mex enchiladas without Wolf Brand Chili? I grew up eating this when I lived in Texas. My parents had a little "Mom and Pop" grocery store and this was the only brand of canned chili that they bothered to carry on their shelves because it was the only brand that any of their customers wanted. I missed it here in Tennessee until I was able to get it online from Amazon. Thanks. 2008-05-15

Finally, I can get Wolf Chili

The Classic Canned Chili
In Texas this has been the standard in canned chili for as long as anybody can remember. Some have grown up never knowing any other kind. Chili fans, however, both love and hate the stuff.
