Customer Reviews:
Very disappointed, print is crooked, ink hog
*Decided to upgrade my old reliable HP printer to something faster. Did much research and decided on the 7280 (unfortunately). Have used it for ~4 months and pages continue to spit out crooked/slanted printing.

*The input tray and paper guides are flimsy and there is an approx 1/8 inch gap causing the paper to shift when being fed into the machine. I can't tell you how much paper, ink and time I have wasted reprinting documents.

*Prints fast & quality is very good but the machine is an ink hog. There are 6 cartridges (5 color/1 black) and even with the XL ones, there always seems to be one "running low." The machine will not print in color unless it's replaced - quite annoying. I'm thinking I should have stuck with the 2 cartridge system and sacrificed a little quality.

*Cannot scan directly to the printer.

*My 5-year-old HP had much better photo editing software that this piece of junk.

*Fax works fine but make sure you "turn on" the fax confirmation feature FIRST if you desire written confirmation as this is not the default.

*Oh, and if you have a roommate or a baby and don't want to disturb them while they sleep, this is not the printer for you! It is very loud especially after installing a cartridge (which will be often as above). Think lear jet getting ready for take off.

*In sum, the crooked printing is the most exasperating. Even though I got a great deal on this, it was totally NOT worth all the headaches. Didn't even bother to set up the wireless.

C7280 Wireless Install Failed
The wireless setup failed repeatedly even though the wireless test on the printer passed. The driver install hung several time. Had to call tech support and he manually forced the install through remote connection to my PC. Printer failed to connect to network once after install. Works well when it connects.

Great All in One Machine
We have had the C7280 for about a month now. This is a great home machine; it does everything and because we can put it on the wireless network the whole family can use it.

prints good, scans terrible
Everything scanned had a yellowish tint. Total garbage as far as scanning is concerned. The printing was good though. Printing photos from cameras looked great.

Software is very controlling. It chooses where your files should go. Won't let you use certain directories. Every limited manual controls.

I ended up with an Epson Artisan 800 and it is a totally different world! Way, way better. Perfect scans, perfect prints, great touch screen, and controllable software.

software so buggy i had to return the printer
As many have reported, the software for this printer is really buggy. It causes everyone's computer to hang on shutdown and it caused both of my computers to not be able to hibernate automatically anymore, even after I uninstalled the software. I strongly recommend that everyone STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRINTER! Seriously, the software will screw up your computer. Just google 'deviceIO and HP' and you'll see it's not just an isolated problem.
