Her Lover's Legacy (Kimani Romance)

Activist Malcolm Braddock wants to have nothing to do with what his recently deceased father stood for. Malcolm is the black sheep of the Braddock clan. When he learns that his father's executive assistant wants him to succeed his father, he is dead set against it. He is nothing like his father. Or is he? Gloria Kinsley, executive assistant to former Senator Braddock, has decided that Malcolm would be the best person to succeed his father as senator. She just has to figure out how she is going to convince him that he is the best man for the job. Gloria is going to have to use all of her feminine wilds along with her intelligence to persuade Malcolm to do what she knows he was destined to do.

Her Lover's Legacy was a good beginning to the Braddock series. It does a good job of introducing all of the characters and giving background information on their lives. It also sets up the plot behind what really happened to Senator Braddock. There are just enough unanswered questions to make you want to read the next book in the series to find out what will happen next. Her Lover's Legacy was a good introductory book.

Malcolm Braddock is trying to come to terms with the death of his father who died tragically. He and his father were alike in many ways, yet different in others. Malcolm is a community activist and not interested in the politics his father favored. However, the pain of his loss is complicating his life and estranging him from his family. When his father's assistant tells him he needs to clear out his father's belongings, the sparks that were always apparent between the two becomes a full fledge volcano trying to erupt.

Gloria Kingsley is determined to get Malcolm to run for the vacant senate seat his father formerly held. She didn't realize how hard that task was going to be and she didn't know her heart would get involved. Their relationship up until this point was strained at best, but now there is a sexual undercurrent that is becoming harder to deny with each passing day. When Gloria stumbles upon some interesting facts regarding the late senator, she becomes a target and Malcolm must decide if he is willing to deny what his heart wants based on faulty principles.

HER LOVER'S LEGACY is the first in a four book series about the Braddocks and is a wonderful start. The characters are well-written and in usual Byrd style her characters can be brooding and funny at the same time. I love that she allowed Malcolm's character to take center stage, and the intrigue and mystery will definitely garner readers attention until the end. There is a teaser at the end to get readers ready for the second book about the Braddocks.

I loved this book, it was very realistic and in some instances I can relate, I appreciate that unlike some of the arabesque books, it was not overly well....corny. Sometimes, I think the authors tend to try to hard to branch out on another level and make the stories more than unrealistic despite the plot being great, but this was well done! I appreciated the authenticity of the story line. I also liked the other two books, sex and the single braddock and Second Chance Baby, written by two other authors, but this one I liked the best besides Second Chance Baby. Great read.

Her Lovers Legacy is the dynamic start to the Braddock Series. The story line and main characters keeps you going from start to end. The book tells the story of Malcolm and Gloria, whose lives are thrown together after the sudden death of Malcolm's father/Gloria's boss. Gloria works throughout the book to break through the walls Malcolm has erected to help him see his "legacy". The stubborn ways of both characters makes for some pretty heated and sexy moments in the book. The added twist of the red flags surrounding the death of the Senator will leave you longing for the next book in the series. Ms Byrd has really set the bar high with her story. This is a definite must read story.

Adrianne Byrd weaves together an intense yet powerful story of how love at first sight isn't always recognized but sometimes it takes something drastic to happen for two people who aren't looking for love to accept it.

Malcolm Braddock gets the news that his father has passed and after the past two years of having nothing but arguments the feeling leaves Malcolm brooding over the lost and not being able to apologize. Finding himself being recruiter to take his father position in the political side has him on defense because he's not interested in fighting the political battles.

Gloria Kingsley was Harmon Braddock's executive assistant and when she finds herself getting involved in trying to get Harmon's son Malcolm to run for office she finds herself having to deal with feelings that presented early in her career with the Braddock's. When Gloria finds herself going head to head with Malcolm they realize that sparks are flying and feelings are running high.

One thing leads to another and next thing Malcolm and Gloria realize a relationship has formed as well as the feelings between the two are intense. HER LOVER'S LEGACY is a passionate romance story with a slice of mystery as well as a little drama. Defiantly can't wait to read the rest of the series.
