Ladybug saved our marriage!!!
When our almost-three-year-old daughter suddenly began refusing to go to sleep unless one of us stayed in her room, we tried everything. We let her "cry it out" - only one night, because she sobbed and screamed for over an hour before we finally gave in. So one of us stayed in the room with her until she fell asleep, every night. Sometimes we would be in there until 11pm. (She goes to bed at 9:30). Which meant, absolutely no "together time" for us as a couple. We thought it was a stage, just a few nights. Over a month later, we were frantic. We consulted our pediatrician, who gave a few tips, including "get some stars", but mostly said "She'll grow out of it. . . eventually!"

I ordered this ladybug after reading the reviews and waited impatiently the four days until it arrived. When I took it out of the package, she went nuts. She wouldn't let go of it. She carried it around with her everywhere. She sat it next to her on the couch so it could watch tv with her and narrated the storyline to it. When, a couple of hours later, I finally found the tiny screwdriver so I could put batteries in it and show her it actually LIT UP she was ecstatic. I have literally never seen her so excited over a toy.

I explained that Ladybug would now be staying with her instead of Mommy and Papa at night. She said she understood. Still, there was a bit of a struggle when it actually came time for us to leave. But she did let us leave. And since then (we've had it over 2 weeks) she is willing to sleep by herself every night, as long as Ladybug is right beside her. She loves to click the buttons to change the colors while she drifts off. But mostly she likes the red glow.

I realize every child is different, and what works for one might not for another, but this toy saved us. Worth every penny.

Great product!
I ordered this ladybug for my 4-year-old daughter who is afraid of the dark. I wanted something to give a little light in her room, but not so bright that she wouldn't be able to sleep. This night light is perfect. The stars give just enough light, and the timer is great. We keep the light on as she falls asleep, and then it turns off automatically after 45 minutes. We love this nightlight!

Outstanding Gift Idea
I bought this for my daughter when she was 9 months old. She automatically loved it. She likes the blue color the best and waits for it to be turned on at bedtime. She now points to the moon when she sees it in the sky. Wow! I have since bought 2 more for baby shower gifts along with nighttime books, lotion and cap w/gown. I highly recommend this for any age child!

Love it!
After 3 years, we still love the twilight turtle. Baby #2 is almost here so we bought the ladybug as well. My daughter, 3 yrs, decided to keep the ladybug and give the turtle to baby brother. An ideal bedtime treasure. Stars around the room, baby friendly controls, a soft light that shuts off on its own, never timed it, but it must be about 20 minutes. The turtle has been our standard baby shower gift for the last few years, no complaints so far : ).

Ladybug has a softer body, and glows either blue, green or red. Blue and green are reasonably bright, I have read by it in a pinch (barely); the red is just a gentle glow. Turtle has blue, green and amber, similarly the blue and green make great stars and the amber makes just a soft glow. The turtle makes big fat stars; the ladybug makes smaller stars, but also makes a crescent moon. They both time out and turn off on their own.

Controls are almost the same. Three easy buttons on the shell to choose a color. The ladybug has an 'on/off' button on the shell, whereas the turtle only has an 'on' button on the shell. Both have a small adult sized master 'on/off' switch on the underbelly, concealed by a velcro flap.

Not a planetarium, but covers the room with stars. Kiddos can do it themselves if they wake up in the middle of the night. It has been a soothing thing for our daughter to play with as she falls asleep. The only trouble we had was after about 1 1/2 years I thought the blue and green leds quit, but it just needed fresh batteries. Must use very little power to be used every night and still last 1 1/2 years on 2 AAs. Would buy either one again.
