Replacement water filter
Fits models FMF, FME, 629, 619, 180, 176, 466, and 467

Doesn't it stand to reason that if you start with better tasting water you'll end up with better tasting coffee? Not only do these filters purify your tap water, they also reduce lime buildup, consequently you won't need to go through a descaling, cleaning process as often.

the little unknowns

I have no idea if these custom made little packs of charcoal are doing anything positive for my morning coffee or not. They seemed to have designed this machine to incorporate them...so I use them as recommended.

Won't stay where they belong for some reason

I suppose these work fine for filtering, although I've never been able to tell much difference in the taste of the coffee with or without them, but maybe others can. What I don't like about these is that the filter holder floats with these and I have to hold it down until a few minutes into the brewing time. The filters I've used in the past didn't have this problem. I've been using one of these once daily for over a week and it is still floating. I hope with a little more use the filter holder will stay down where it should be. When it floats out of the depression in the tank, the water does not flow through it so the water does not get filtered. These look like the old ones so I can't imagine what the difference is.

Filters the whole family can love!

Truly, filters like these put a smile on everyone's face - Mom, Dad, Junior, Sis, and even little Spot. Makes your coffee taste like sunshine in a cup.

Filters Are Fine...But

The filters work great. The only problem is the basically flawed coffee pot that they fit into. Even went so far as to send a letter to Krups about the engineering errors in this product. No response.
