Contemporary Aluminum Desk Lamp, Outlet/RJ11 Phone/Modem Jack, Brushed Aluminum CEB20191

The styling is definitely suitable for home or office. I selected this lamp because it was one of the few that utilized a 100 watt bulb. I was a little disappointed that the bulb is covered by an opaque/frosted cover, which somewhat diffuses the light and gives off more of a yellowy, soft incandescence.

As has been the problem with serveral desk lamps I have purchased, the adjustable feature, isn't quite perfected in that if you don't have it in just the right "balanced" position, it won't stay where you set it. I have to keep the vertical part of the stand almost straight up and down in order for it to stay put.

Also note, if you choose this lamp for your corporate offce and expect to use the RJ11 phone jack, check with your telephony folks before making your purchase. Most corporate office phone systems are digital and utilize the smaller RJ45 connector that you would find on a network cable -- so you might not be able to use it.

All-in-all it's an attractive, contemporary lamp and I do get compliments on it, and while it does lack some in the area of adustability, it is better than those I have tried in the past.

I've read good reviews about this product but just to make sure, I hedged my two lamp choices to this one and other fluorescent desk lamp.
The comparison makes it even clearer that this one was a superior choice.
It has no buzzing noise that the other lamps has, its design is beautiful so I don't feel embarrassed leaving this on my kitchen table (some desk lamps are so tacky that they cannot belong to places other than your desk), and it is highly functional that you can dim the lights.
One minor drawback is that you feel the heat when you are seated close... I guess you can't help it with this kind of light bulb.
Overall, this is a definite 5-star.

I just received this lamp, and I absolutely love it! It has some really great features. First of all, I like the swing arm. I can place the lamp base out of the way, and only move the arm over the writing surface. Another neat feature is the dimmer switch. With the dimmer, I don't have to always have the full 100 watt halogen bulb going, if my office is bright. But when I need the full brighness of the light, it has plenty! Another nice feature is the additional plug-in, phone jack and computer jack right on the base. HOW CONVENIENT! It is a beautiful brushed aluminum which coordinates with my "silver-colored" computer screen.
The package arrived promptly, and in excellent condition too! I am so glad I chose this lamp!

The clean transitional style of this lamp makes it suitable for home or office. The bright and dimable halogen light makes it great for reading, crafts, or just ambient light at night. A lot of the other desk lights have too weak of bulb for reading or seeing fine details with my 'over-40' eyes, or they are built too frail with a lot of cheap plastic parts and don't last long.
It is also often a real PITA to find an available plug down in the wire mess and dustbunnys behind a desk or headboard, and now that is a thing of the past. I had a similar Lamp from Staples that did NOT have the computer jacks and outlet, but this one helps make plugging in a portable laptop or cell phone charger so much easier and keeps the desk or nightstand clean and organized. IMHO It is worth the extra $10 or so, since I am constantly plugging in various chargers. My son got one for his college dorm, one is on my desk, one is in our guestroom, another is on my nightstand, and the old one sits over the sewing machine for extra [aimable] light when working on projects. I haven't yet found another desk light that is so handy, good-looking, and versatile.
