2009 TurboTax Premier Federal + State + Federal efile

EARLY IN THE JANUARY I HAD PURCHASED TURBOTAX PREMIER, AND LATER ON I HAD UPGRADE IT WITH A BUSINESS AS AN ADDITION TO THIS PROGRAM. I HAD A COMPLICATED TAX RETURN TO DO, AND I FELT I NEEDED THE BEST (AND MOST EXPENSIVE). EVERYTHING WENT FINE, UNTIL I ENTERED K-I SCHEDULE FOR PARTNERSHIPS. IN THE BOX 16, PROGRAM (FOR MY APPLE iMAC)HAS ONLY A ONE SPACE FOR FOREIGN OPERATION - IN THIS CASE IT WAS CANADA. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SPACING, ALTHOUGH THE PARTNERSHIP HAS ALSO LISTED MEXICO. AFTER TRYING TO CONTACT (FOR HOURS) INTUIT ASSISTANCE I WAS TOLD BY MR. ALFRED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO SIMPLY ADD ANOTHER K-1 FORM FOR COUNTRY OF MEXICO. I KNEW HE WAS WRONG. BUT I HAD TRIED IT & ARITHMETIC SYSTEM COMPLETELY COLLAPSED. I AM PAST THE SIXTY DAYS - BECAUSE I HAD JUST RECEIVED 3 DAYS AGO LAST K-1 STATEMENT. THEREFORE THERE IS NO REFUND. WHEN I WROTE SEVERAL E-MAILS ASKING FOR FIXING THE PROGRAM, MY E-MAIL MESSAGES WERE "BOUNCED" BY INTUIT. AN EXAMPLE OF CORPORATE ARROGANCE !!! I WOULD NEVER BUY INTUIT PRODUCT !!! PAUL FRIED

just noticed that Turbotax 2009 prices have increased and that buried in their agreement is that they can charge you any price they decide if you don't print your return by March 27, 2010. Consumers apparently can't find out what price they are going to be charged until they've invested hours inputting their data.
Also - their agreement seems to say they can monitor the content of your returns! No guaranteed pricing and no privacy.

but us consumers are over a barrel as tax prep is too complicated to do it without software or even more expensive tax accountants. its not right and its not fair.

Its time for the Congress to make tax code simpler and make doing taxes easier and for the IRS to provide free downloadable programs to taxpayers.
Until then, consumers should complain to Turbotax and our congressional representatives and ask for guaranteed, fair pricing of tax software
and guaranteed privacy except as needed by IRS.

Great deal on Turbo Tax. I saved money, got a quick response and filed my taxes.

Gives an error that says:
".net 3.5 Service pack 1 Framework verification failed"

Went to the support page and did everything they mentioned. No dice. Attempted to install after turning off firewall and AV, ran as administrator. No dice.

Stick to the web version or go with a competitor who knows how to write software.

It was easy to load and use. Hopefully, the refunds will come soon. I will probably use it again next year.
