Gargantugame Pro Arcade Game (Candlelight)

This is way too expensive. Go find an old jamma style arcade game, gut it and build your own home arcade. There are tons of instructions online to help you and you will save thousands in the process!

Anyone that is considering buying this product should know that when you emulate something, it is never exactly the same as the original. The biggest issue is that the machine runs a Windows XP Operating system, and in order to run the games, you need an Emulator (which is already installed and provided for you). An Emulator is software that will try to re-create the same environment that the original game was played in. This is the only way to have different types of games spanning decades worth of games. Most of these games may play well, but you may have problems with some since the original hardware is non-existent in the machine. Such problems can be video issues like slowdown or extra graphics or some graphics not being drawn. Or problems can be audio problems where the sounds don't sound the same as the original, or not every sound plays. Since the original hardware is non-existent, you need software to take your current hardware and emulate the environment that existed in which the game was originally played in. I'm not saying whether you should or should not buy this, but you should know what you are purchasing and what software emulation is.

When I was looking for a game to complete my gameroom I first looked at Arcade Legends. I loved the idea so much that I ordered one. My wife, being the best shopper known to man, then saw an ad for the Gar. I called the store and the sales person told me that I would be a fool to buy Arcade Legends and not look at the Gar machine. He was right! Not only could I load my own games, but the machine quality was unbelievable. After three years of owning the machine my four kids and myself still play on a daily basis. We love this machine!

We have had "the GAR" for over 6 months. It is by far the best machine available. It plays every game known to man (and woman). The three "kids" (ages 5, 7 and 40) would play it everyday if it wasn't for mom making us go to work and school! Mark (the owner of the company) strives on giving personal help to all his customers. One of he great things about this game is it is upgradeable. We have bought some of the latest PC games recently, updated new hardware that was not available when we bought the machine and were up and playing in minutes. The design is ingenious on how it plays, upgrades, etc. Great Job Gar guys.

I've been considering an arcade system for a while, but was disappointed with the value equation (game selection (lackthereof)for price) of the systems out there. Moments after seeing this one, the guys were marching down my stairs to install the system. It's the most amazing thing out there ... SERVICE from Mark & his team is 5-stars, extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and friendly. QUALITY - game emulation is identical to the originals. SELECTION/VARIETY - from the oldest of old school games, to the newest of games, it's more than you could ever imagine (or play). Last, if you do any sort of entertaining, this is always a huge hit.
