Ground Mounted Institutional Quality Tetherball Set

Tetherball pole comes in three pieces for shipping so you have to put it together. That wouldn't normally be difficult; however, the holes don't line up, so when you insert the bolt, it doesn't go through. Additionally, the "male" end of the pole is less wide so it (theoretically) will slip into the "female" end of the other pole ... however, the "female" end is not wide enough for it to fit, so I had to reverse things and jerry rig. Also, where the holes are cut out in the pole to allow the bolts to slip through, they were not all the way finished ... i.e., the "donut hole" was still attached so when I tried to slip in the receiving part of that pole, it was obstructed. Had to break out the screw driver and hammer to hammer those donut holes off. Then, if I assembled it as instructed, I was to put a washer, then bolt, then washer, then nut; however, the bolt wasn't long enough if you use the washers. All in all, I had to toss the short pole, stick the second pole into the ground (but it has a narrow base -- so it wiggles more than it should) and flip the third pole around (so now the narrow end it actually on top so the eye bolt holding the tetherball doesn't quite fit right). Since I had already had everything unwrapped, spread out, unboxed, etc., and the shipping box is so heavy/long/difficult to handle, I opted for the jerry rig method as opposed to boxing it all back up and taking it down to be shipped and returned. Would definitely not recommend this product.

This is a great game to play with the whole family. Doesn't take up much space and stores away easily so you have your yard back. My only concern is that the ground sleeve seems to be shaking a bit loose during play. We're going to shore it up with some concrete below the grass-surface level (so it won't show or affect the yard).

I am amazed on how much use this equipment is being used my my children. It absolutely was so easy to install and takes up very little space in the back yard. From my 3 year old to my 10 year old, I think this was an excellent choice to keep them active as well as the whole family. It's great for everyone to enjoy and have continuous fun. I recommend it to anyone who has thought about buying one. I received it all in one package and the instructions were easy as well as the set up.
