Two major problems.....these radios which are supposed too go over 20 miles, too give them a test I took one with me when taking our dog for a walk, five miles at it's furthest point. Before I had reached the 2 mile mark the signal was breaking up, byt the time I was at 2 1/2 miles it was gone......I gues 20 miles is in a completely flat area, no obstacles.
Th eother major problem is battery life, as I said we used these too get in touch with our children, so they were not used a great deal, 5 - 6 times a day at most, by mid afternoon the batteries were dead, I contacted the company and they sent new ones, but still the same results...
I do not reccomend this product.

Couldn't be happier!
We got these for our kids who are fond of playing in the nearby woods and fields; we are able to easily keep track of them with these. A great product; works well. 2009-01-03

I use these at work. They're on my wishlist.
We run these 8hrs/day at work and charge them overnight. Not sure about the range. I'm never more than a mile away from the main building but even at a mile, the audio is clear. I'll use them to find my wife while we're shopping;-) 2008-12-03

No Battery Life
The batteries in these didnt last long at all even when not in use. I do not reccommend buying them. 2008-11-24

2 way radio for a while at least.
I bought these radios because we have a large house and an intercom system was what I should have bought, but the idea of the weather alert really sold me on these, plus the ability too use these radios for communication up too 20 miles sounded good.

Midland LXT460VP3
Midland LXT460VP3 radios worked very well in all conditions. I use them to play paintball so they are always taking punishment and are still performing all day. 2008-09-08
