  • Exercise Outside in the Snow and Ice
  • Commute To Work Safely
  • Easy To Use
  • Spikeless

The Yaktrax Pro is brand new on the market. Made of a natural rubber blend, the Pro is great for the more active winter enthusiast. The Pro is ideal for the person needing increased durability while working, running or enjoying outdoor activities during the winter months. It is equipped with a removable performance strap that was designed for stability. The Pro still has the same simple design and effectiveness as the Walker with the unique 360 degrees of traction with every step you take. When you walk or run with the Yaktrax Pro, every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. You will move about naturally with the Pro. There's nothing new to learn, just walk as you normally would and experience stability on ice and snow like you never felt before. Removable Performance Strap Natural Rubber Blend

Customer Reviews:

Yaktrax is Craptrax
Yaktrax seems to work very well for casual walking, but not good for hiking. I wore a pair and went hiking last week. We had an ice storm and everything was a sheet of ice. Yaktrax was great for the first mile or so, then the rubber band on one shoe snapped in the middle. I did a quick repair, then another mile later the one on the other shoe snapped. Yaktrax also has a tendency to slip off or slip over the toe of your shoe if you walk aggressively, like hiking. If you are walking to and from your mailbox, then it's great. If you do anything more, than it's crap.

Must have winter gear!
I own two pairs of Yak Trak Pros. One for myself and one for my daughter. I've had them for three years now and love them. I decided to go with the ones with the strap because several friends told me that the strapless ones sometimes come off while you are running or hiking in them. I think thry're very comfortable to wear. I've hiked up icy mountain trails for hours and ran or walked for several miles in them. They fit over both my winter hiking boots and my tennis shoes. I've also lent them to several of my friends with varying shoe sizes as well as some of their children. So far no one has lost or broken either pair. I also think they are easy to get on and off, even my grandmother uses them with no problem.

Another note, I used to live in a college town with a very active ROTC program. I know for a fact that all of the ROTC cadets wore Yak Traks during their daily runs in the winter time.

Not Foolproof
I don't drive, so I walk a lot in all sorts of weather. I've had several pairs of ice-gripper products like this, and so far I think these are the best.

However, you can still slip on ice with them. I just wore them to go to the grocery store. They let me walk with reasonable confidence, but there were a couple of places on the way back where my foot did slip on ice. I ended up staying on the grass when I could, and was very careful getting down a gentle slope. Also, with these on, the store's floor felt a little slick.

Bottom line, you still can't be careless in slippery conditions. If you must go out, wear these, but walk carefully.

A MUST FOR WINTER!
I purchased the Yaktrax Pro for myself and the Yaktrax for my child. They are wonderful! Having a herniated disk, I take risks walking on ice and snow and feel much more confident when wearing my Yaktrax. The Yaktrax help decrease the chances of falling and/or slipping on ice and snow. I will never do without them! They are not for indoor use. One less star due to the Yaktrax Pro being on the pricey side.
