I am just not sure

I got this Fortune Telling Fish and I have used it on several occasions.
I am just not sure though if it is accurate. I mean sure I could just be biased and maybe I intentionally shaped events to not coincide with what the fish predicted. But shouldn't the fish have seen that coming?
