Editorial Review:
Do you ever dream of becoming a figure skater? Now you can with Imagine Figure Skater. Use the stylus to perform jumps, spins, and a variety of skating combinations, such as Axel, Lutz, and Salchows. Learn new expert moves from your coach. Design your own costume, choreograph your routines, and choose your favorite song to perform to. You can pick a variety of hairstyles and colors, clothing designs, and accessories. Learn what it's like to live the life of a champion and have to balance between training, school and friends.
Train with your personal trainer and master your routines. Set goals with your trainer and learn new maneuvers to perform in a tournament at the end of each month. An assortment of fun mini-games

It is all together a fun game so far. (I received it tonight) The jazzy/elevator music is slightly annoying, but not repetitious like some games. You can choose between 3 girls, they are all different in looks and the booklet gives their description(likes, dislikes, etc).
There is a School, My Room, Skating Rink, Skate Shop, and Training center that you can visit by using the map. At school, you can occasionally chat w/ friends and 2 guys who you're supposed to like. I haven't figured everything out, yet, so I don't nknow much about them.
Yes, you can change your character's hair and clothes. But, you have to go to the Skate Shop and buy things (like a flower for your hair or a new dress) with your allowance.
Every week you are given 2 goals to complete, I.E.: Raising Stamina 1 level and learning the Double Toe Loop at the Skating Rink.
The Skating Rink is a bit confusing at first. To skate, you must go to the man on the ice who is the owner. Then, he'll ask you if you want to practice the "Whatever you're learning". Don't worry about the training, your coach explains everything pretty well. Though, I think some of them talk too long. Luckily, you can skip on through with the A button so they don't spell out every single letter. lol
You are actually on the ice and it does look similar to how it is when I really skate. Th skating sound itself is inaccurate, similar a mini lawnmower.
You can either complete or fail the move. It takes her a while to set up for the move, then, the little guide comes up over the touch screen where you guide your stylus over. Except, when she falls after failing the move, she giggles or says, "Oh!" in a happy sort of way that is totally odd because when you fall on your *butt* backwards at the speed she's going, it hurts! Another thing, the coach won't let you leave until you get it right. Yea, you have to turn it off to leave if you don't feel like doing it. LOL
There are a few mini games that you can do at the training center. It depends on what you need to do, like raising stamina 1 level, to acccess a game a certain game. I know there are at least 4 and they are creative, but feeding your girl sushi to gain stamina is weird.
Well, to wrap this up, this game is pretty good in the fun area, (4 Stars) but in the realistic area to me, only 3 stars over all because the jumps and spins are named inaccurately gives a little kid who's never skated the wrong impression. Now, I think any girl over 7-8 would absolutely love this game, as my sisters and I have.

You get to change her costumes, pick her music and her steps for the competitons that she goes to.
Worth the money.
- Work with your own virtual trainer to establish your goals and achieve your aspirations on the ice.
- Choose from three different figure skaters, each with their own unique personalities and styles.
- Use the DS’ stylus to nail the required moves that every champion must master to make it to the top of the figure skating world.
- Take part in an assortment of fun mini-games that only add to an already engaging storyline.
- Expand your creativity as you design the costumes and choreograph the routines to make it to the nationals and beyond.

Really fun game
This game is confusing at first, like any other game. then it gets easier, and it is really fun. i loved this game, not only cuz im a skater, but cuz it was well planned out. the competitions are fun, and i love doing the training. to sum it up: this is a super fun, awesome game that i reccommend to anyone who likes ice skating, and other people, too. 2008-06-28

Forget Icy!! Figure Skater's HOT!!!!
Figure Skater is really fun. I couldn't stop playing it. The mini games rock and even if you become the world champ, it is fun to go back through with a new character. You can design your own programs for composition and make a fashion statement at the same time by designing your own costumes. 2008-04-21

Awesome
I am a teen skater myself and my grandmother saw an advertisement for this game and sent it to me.

VERY FUN!
My daughter who is 11 and who is a figure skater on a team and on her own. LOVED LOVED LOVED this game. She could not put it down. I made the mistake of giving it to her on the day of her competition. She played all the way up to going on the ice and performing. Came off and wanted to finish the game.
