Editorial Review:
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution will be the first offering in the legendary Civilization series to appear on next generation consoles and handheld systems. In development by legendary designer Sid Meier and Firaxis Games, this game will deliver Civilization's renowned epic single-player campaigns featuring vast re-playability and unmatched addictive gameplay. In addition, with revolutionary features like real-time interaction with leaders and advisors, extensive multiplayer capabilities and integrated video and voice chat, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution will completely transport the Civilization series to a level of gameplay that fans have never seen before.

I have been having a blast!
My only complaint is there is no way to really get in and tweak the start of the game. You go up against a certain number of players, and the land is a certain size. I prefer to go all out and have a large area with lots of enemies, as that makes for a deeper experience.
As it is though, I am enjoying it, and at the end of the day that's all the counts to me.

COMPLETE LET DOWN.....

* Excellent Graphics
* Great Game Play
* Games are not as long and tiresome as the original PC game
Con's
* I get a headache after playing too long b/c of the way the screen moves from one city to another. It bounces all over the place after you have built tons of cities.
* Not a huge variety of units and buildings compared to PC civ
Multiplayer -
Pro's
*Games are completed fairly quick appx 2-4 hours
Con's
*Lots of disconnects and lock ups which are very annoying
*Games are not customizable
*Only allows 4 people in multiplayer
Overall the game is still fun to play! I have logged several hours trying to unlock all the achievements.

It has MUCH less options compared to the computer games for that reason.
Games will take 3-5 hours. If you play teams you can get done even faster. The multiplayer works well. You can control the timer on custom multiplayer games but you cannot control the timer speed on ranked games(must be on normal)Xbox live keeps tabs on peoples ranks. You don't have to join ladders like the PC.
A great feature about this game is the ability to talk to you allies and opponents over your headset! Diplomacy is conducted through speaking rather than typing. A big improvement.
There are some options missing that would have help for replayability though. You cannot control the world size or the number of players. You cannot change the climate or anything like that. The maps are still randomly generated, but the options are standard for every game. I think this would have helped for replayablility and just for the challenge.
Overall its a great way to play civ in half the time of the computer game. The next civ for a console will no doubt have many of the features that are missing in this one. We have to remember that this is the first one they have made for a console. Its still addictive and all around fun to play. If you cant live without all the technicalities of Civ, stick to the computer version. If you can I would recommend it for purchase overall.

Always liked the PC version, and this one is great too!
I started playing Civ when it first came out umpteen years ago. It seems to keep getting better with age. I was quite excited to see the demo pop up on the 360, so I played it a few times just to see what things looked like. I was impressed, so went ahead and ordered it.

Civilization's Baby Brother
Lives up to the Civilization standard! It's a great game and I guarantee you'll love your first victory in world domination - with whatever path you choose. Unlike previous Civilizations for the PC this one goes along with a faster pace and less customizations (basically no pre-game customizations); however, the multiplayer is far more engaging and easily accessible. This is a game you want in your collection, especially if you haven't played a Sid Meier game. 2008-09-02

Good for an hour of play at most
This game was a total let down. The time moves so fast, that just as things get interesting, the game ends. And it is not like the old one where you could keep playing (even though you had won), in this version, it just ends. you can start over, but the same thing happens again.

A great console revision, but missing soem good options
First of all. This game was not meant to be Civ 5. It is a whole new game in the civ series. It is meant to bring casual gamers into the civ fold.
It has MUCH less options compared to the computer games for that reason.
