Xbox is fun. It's usually one of the systems that someone's friend has and when you go over for dinner you wind up playing some racing/shooting/music game. Then you go home thinking "Gee wouldn't that be nice to have?"
Yep, it is. Because now we're the friends with the system.
The smaller hard drive works just fine for us as we are extremely casual gamers that mostly use the device for RockBand, the Simpsons, and racing.
It's fun as all heck to rock out to RockBand (by far the most addictive game I've played).
Overall, worth the purchase price if what you're looking for is all of the mentioned above.

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
The Xbox 360 just dropped from fifty dollars. It is the Falcon Chipset which means it runs pretty cool and harder to break then the original versions. However, in August the new Jasper Version launches as the 60GB Pro for three hundred and fifty dollars. Aside from the disk space, the console will finally be the version that won't RROD (Red Ring of Death)...meaning it'll use less electricity, run cool and you wont have to worry much about it breaking. The hard drive space will finally become important because Microsoft just revealed that now you can put your entire game disk on the hard drive so you can play it faster and without that loud disk drive spinning (the disk still needs to be inserted for anti-piracy reasons). I say its worth the extra fifty bucks for a more reliable, cheaper to use console with enough disk space. Still, this isn't a horrible offer either as the Falcon chips are still worthy compared to the old Xenon's or Zephyr's.

Anyone know if Amazon is shipping the Falcon's by now?

The new systems should be more reliable then the older additions and if that was holding you back then the time maybe now to go out and buy this system. You cant beat the new price now either for a new system that has been out there the longest.
Xbox Live is what makes this system go from good to great. You can play with friends, download movies/tv shows, game demos and arcade games. Easy way to stay connected with family for only $50 a year using the headset over live.
**Must have high speed enet to use over Live.
**Customer service really is not as bad as people say. It was better in the past but it is still functional for the customers needs.

First System in Forever...Overall Worth the Wait
Being that I'm not a serious gamer, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

fantastic system
the xbox 360 is notorious for it's crashing and red ring o' death that made many people hate the microsoft company and want to get a PS3. Don't do that. the newer versions of the xbox 360 have the 65 nm chip that pretty much prevent crashing. Combined playing with the several profiles that play on my system sum up to about 14 hours a day, and I have not run into a single problem with the introduction of the falcon version recently put out. Most of the games that are made these days are made for the 360 since it does not really require any special treatment trying to make keep up with the major processing units that are seen on the PS3. so most of the first person shooters are found on the 360 which in my case is a good thing. so I would recommend to anyone else to get a 360 since there are alot more fun games on it, and as an afterthought, im not a microsoft fan boy or any bull$^*! like that. 2008-07-16

Great console
I have the original 360 and have had no problems. I've always used the console with it standing on its end. Don't know if that helped with heat or what. Great console. Great features and games. And with XBox Live it's even more interactive.
Anyone know if Amazon is shipping the Falcon's by now?
