I'll play LIVE for Five hours a day......and never get tired
I already have 10 xbox 360 games and I luv the Elite console. I put a Turbo cooler fan on the back and I let the fan run for five minutes even after I turn the console off. This should extend the life of my Xbox 360 Elite. There's an abundance of cutting edge technology games being released in these next three or four months, so this was definately the right time to go Xbox 360.

my pc has a 500 gig drive
Why did I just pay this much money for a PC with worse controls, much simpler games, and fewer functions?

I'm really disappointed in myself. I thought I should bite the bullet and get a console, but this thing is terrible. I already have a computer, dammit! All the good games for this system are already out on PC, and when you use a mouse, you don't have to rely on auto aim to compensate for the crap controls.

Check eBay. Mine will be cheap.

A-1 Entertainment
As most of us with children know, it can sometimes be difficult to have little ones focus on one thing for an extended period of time.

Forget about that with this video unit. It's ease of use, variety of built in programming and large selection of all types of games available for purchase make this powerful unit worth 10 times the investment.

You will have to make the kids go out for exercise once you get one of these.

By the way..it's very addicting for adults too.....LOL.

A quality item from Microsoft.

Awesome
I've had the 360 Elite since October 2007, and its up and running.

The best part of the 360 is Xbox Live, and it's huge library of games. 45 bucks are worth every penny, when it comes to Xbox Live.

There's a new thing coming, called the "New Xbox Experience", which is a major update that will go on Live this Fall. So i would recommend that right now is the perfect time to purchase this console.

Great console, nearly infinite entertainment at this point
Games, games, games.

The Xbox 360 has the broadest selection of games and the most highly-rated, or AAA, titles. A quick look at Metacritic will point any core gamer in the right direction. Achievements are supported in every game and really add some fun/cohesion to the gaming experience. Many great titles are also heavily discounted at this point, and the Platinum Hits collection is certainly worth a look.

Xbox Live Arcade has an equivalent "Arcade Hits" program with great games at a low price. Puzzle Quest at $10 is worth a particular mention. The XBLA version is not only the best version of the game, but it is also the cheapest, as Puzzle Quest on the other platforms runs $20-$30. Even with the XBLA-exclusive expansion pack added-on, it will be under $20.

Casual gamers are worth a mention in regards to this console. From what I have observed, the 360 is very friendly to casual gamers as well. Puzzle games (such as the aforementioned Puzzle Quest), board games, and card games are all readily available on Xbox Live Arcade. They are cheap, fun, and great for casual gamers. Retail titles such as Viva Pinata and Banjo Kazooie are huge games that many people enjoy. The upcoming Xbox Live Primetime looks to be a boon for game show fans with the allurement of weekly shows and real-world prizes.

Media is another topic to examine. I personally consider this console a gaming machine first and foremost. It can be enjoyed to the fullest without ever watching a movie or TV show. However, media is certainly an added bonus and I have no doubt that many people use the 360 heavily for media purposes. There is a huge selection of movies, music videos, and TV shows on the Marketplace. The Netflix integration will provide thousands upon thousands of movies/TV shows available for watching any time, for free (with Netflix subscription of course - $8.95 per month), with no commercials.

Lastly, I will give a quick mention to the RRoD. I don't like having to mention it because the whole thing has been so overblown that it seems like I'll just be talking to a brick wall anyways. The RRoD has been a wonderful target for games journalists (to garner website hits) and especially rival console devotees ("fanboys"). The latter in particular love to perpetuate the RRoD to no end, posting comments about being on their "sixth" Xbox 360, or claiming that they know many people, all of which have had multiple failures. The actual situation is no where near as bleak as one might suppose from all the attention given to it. With the new chipsets there is only a very slim chance of experiencing a failure, and this would most likely be after at least a year. In such a case, let the 3 year warranty handle that and pay $0 for a smooth repair in which a prepaid box is shipped out to collect it. Also, perhaps 2 months after this review date, any consoles purchased will be the next chipset (Jasper), which will take the chance of RRoD down from maybe 3% to 0.001%.

In short: Buy the console, it is worth every penny, and won't be regretted.
