Xbox 360 Rock Band Special Edition

If you are a music fan... a ROCK music fan, and you have friends that don't mind getting together to look like idiots, then this is a fantasticly fun game. With the availablity of constantly updated downloadable songs to spice up the variety, it never gets boring. Add one more guitar controller and 4 people can play at once, localy or online. Add a huge screen and a loud sound system and you're set!

Cons? The guitar and drum controllers have had some issues but they are supposed to have fixed most of that and will release newer better versions for Rock Band 2. I haven't had anything break but my friends have. The drums are loud and the pedal can be brittle if played hard so buy (or make, like I did) the pads and a pedal plate to fix that. Adding a little piece of rubber vacuum hose over each drumstick tip keeps the cheaper pads alive longer.

I am 30 something and a member of a musical family. Everybody in the family plays an instrument from my 16 year old neice to my 63 year old mom. This game is a blast for all ages. Even though some of us are not rock fans the music really doesn't matter. I believe that if you turn off the music you could still play the game and have fun.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it is hard to change instruments and keep the same character from one position to the next, but other than that I give it a 10!!!
I can't wait until the release of Rock Band 2

i love this game, and it is so much fun to have friends over to play with. there are so many additional songs to buy (about 80 dollars worth) if you are really into the game and would love to expand your library

My three sons, husband, and I love playing rock band. It is a great family game!

I own both Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. Without any question in my mind Rock Band is the superior game. Everything holds up well except for the bass pedal for the drums, which once I reinforced it with metal, it works fine. This seems pricey at first but if your a fan of these games it's cheaper buying this rather than every instrument down the road. Completly worth it.
